AKY-NV-X2 Firmware Update Guide

AKY-NV-X2 Firmware Update Guide

This guide explains how to update the main unit firmware and camera firmware using an SD card.
You can place the main unit firmware file and camera firmware files on the SD card at the same time. The device will automatically detect the available firmware files and complete the update process.

Before You Start

Please prepare:

Important:
Please keep the device connected to a stable power supply during the update. Do not turn off the device or remove the SD card while the update is in progress, otherwise the update may fail.

Firmware Update Steps

Step 1: Copy the firmware files to the SD card

  1. Remove the SD card from the device.
  2. Insert the SD card into your computer using a card reader.
  3. Copy all required firmware update files to the root directory of the SD card.

Info
Do not place the firmware files inside any folder. Make sure the file names end with .bin and do not rename the files.

The firmware files may include:
Main Unit Firmware:
FW96580A.bin

Front Camera Firmware:
EthcamTxFw1.bin

Rear Camera Firmware:
EthcamTxFw2.bin

Step 2: Insert the SD card into the device

After copying the firmware files, safely remove the SD card from your computer and insert it back into the device.

Step 3: Power on the device

Connect the device to power and turn it on.
The device will automatically detect the firmware files on the SD card and enter the update process.

Step 4: Wait for the main unit firmware update

When the main unit firmware is detected, the screen will show an update message such as:
Updating FW ...
Please wait patiently. The update usually takes about 1–2 minutes.
The device may restart automatically after the main unit firmware update is complete.

Step 5: Wait for the camera firmware update

If camera firmware files are also detected, the device will automatically continue with the front and rear camera firmware update.
The screen will show the camera firmware update progress.
Please wait until the update is fully completed. Do not disconnect the power or remove the SD card during this process.

Step 6: Return to the normal preview screen

After all firmware updates are complete, the update screen will disappear automatically and the device will return to the normal preview screen.
This means the update has been completed successfully.

After the Update

1. Complete basic settings again

After the firmware update, some system settings may need to be selected again, such as:
  • Language
  • Region
  • Time
  • Other basic system settings
Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

2. Check the firmware version

Go to the device version information page and confirm that the main unit and camera firmware versions have been updated to the latest versions.

3. Format the SD card

After confirming that the update is complete, we recommend formatting the SD card in the device settings.

This helps:

  • Remove old firmware files
  • Prevent the device from detecting the same update files again
  • Keep the storage card in good condition
